Vimto

Vimto is a British soda that's been around since 1908. This particular specimen of "Sparkling Vimto" was actually manufactured in Illinois and has what appears to be Arabic on the can. I'm guessing that is because it was licensed to Ziyad Brothers (a Mediterranean Food Importer).

Anyway, it sucks. It's way too sugary. There's only the slightest hint of spice (like cinnamon or nutmeg). I couldn't detect the supposed fruit flavor. It probably contains a healthy amount of Red #40 though. The flavor and aroma remind me of the Big K Red Cream Soda I used to drink when I was a kid.

On the plus side, the graphic design is pretty nice. And Vimto's website urges you to "shlurple the purple", which is just embarrassing.
