Jeff, What's Brewin'?

I know my posts have been a bit sporadic lately, but that doesn't mean that there haven't been plenty of goings on in the world of Cool Brews. I've been drinking my fair share of foamy tipple. I've even met some kindred spirits from all across the information superhighway. And of course I've been enjoying my latest batch of homebrew, which is a "Blackstrap Rootbeer Stout". A delicious adventure, indeed.

Here's a round-up of sorts:

• A couple weeks ago I took full advantage of the first annual NY Craft Beer Week. I probably tasted 20 or 30 different beers, most of which were from nearby. I look forward to doing it again next year.

• This energy drink enthusiast has reviewed 800+ beverages (so far) and his reviews are thourough to say the least.

• Another impressive website chronicles the most delicious carbonated soft drinks from around the world. I'm totally jealous. I don't know how he obtained all of those drinks. And I don't quite understand what the "Minnesota Museum of the Mississippi" is, but I think I like it.

• Here's a crazy website devoted to "Crazy Asian Drinks". Pika!

• A few months ago, I mentioned my fake Dr Pepper collection. Well...of course, I'm not the only one. (1) (2) (3)

• I've been trying my damnedest to get my hands on a bottle of Budweiser American Ale. According to their site, there are six stores within 3 blocks of my apartment that carry it. I don't believe them.
  

• Yesterday I was reading a little bit about the history of brewing in Brooklyn. Hmm. Thanks New York Food Museum!

• Last night I enjoyed a bottle of red wine from India. Who knew?

• I also got two new books to add to my beverage library. The Dictionary of Drink: A Guide to Every Type of Beverage and Imbibe!: From Absinthe Cocktail to Whiskey Smash, a Salute in Stories and Drinks to "Professor" Jerry Thomas, Pioneer of the American Bar Featuring the Original Formulae for 100 Classic American Drinks and a Selection of New Drinks Contributed in His Honor by the Leading Mixologists of Our Time.
